This is a relatively new idea that's come across form the States and it's great fun. A Trash The Dress shoot is session after the wedding day where either bride and groom or just the bride get dressed up again, go to a different location and have a creative shoot to trash the wedding dress. Despite the term "Trash the Dress", it does not necessarily mean damaging the dress.

 

The idea is to juxtaposition the elegance of the dress with an environment that you would not expect to see it, for example a classic dress in an industrial ship yard, or riding a motor bike. You don't need to actually damage the dress to have a successful shoot... Well nothing the dry cleaners can fix anyway.

 

It also serves as a great way to get those fun fashion style images that aren't always possible on the actual wedding day.
